Geomam

Where is Geomam located? This is the link of Geomam Station in Google Maps. As you can see, Geomam is in the northern part of Incheon between Seoul, Gimpo and Incheon International Airport on Yeongjong Island.

Asian Games Incheon 2014

In 2014, the Asian Games will be held in Incheon. The Asiad Main Stadium is close to the Geomam neighborhood. In order to make the Stadium more accessible to visitors, Geomam Station will be connected to Incheon Subway Line 2. A picture is here. So, Geomam Station will be become a transfer station. Geomam Station is already on the AREX railway between Seoul Station and Incheon International Airport - with Gimpo International Airport in between. Here is the photo of the location of the Asian Games Main Stadium on the middle right. On the bottom left is the Cheongna Free Economic Zone (FEZ).

Gyeong-In Waterway Project

K water, the Korea Water Resources Corporation, will work together with DHV from The Netherlands to develop the Gyeong-In Ara Waterway Project, making it one of the biggest building projects. The Gyeong-In canal is 18 km long and 80 meters wide. It connects the Han river with the West Sea.

Incheon Bridge Marathon

The Hankyoreh reports that a marathon opened the Incheon Bridge. It is the longest bridge in South Korea (18 kilometers). It connects New Sondo City (IFEZ) with Yeongjong (IFEZ) Island. The island was an area of reclaimed land built for the construction of Incheon International Airport. 

About Geomam (검암)

Geomam (검암동) is a neighbourhood in the Seo-Gu (서구) district near Cheongna (청라) - an Incheon Metropolitan City (인천) Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) - in South Korea (대한민국). IFEZ consists of Songdo, Youngjong and Cheongna. Geomam Station is a railway station on AREX (railway line that links Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Airport, with a future section extending to Seoul Station) and Incheon Subway Line 2 (under construction). Gyeongin (경인 - railway, expressway and canal) is on the north side of Geomam. Formerly, it was Geomam-ri, Sogot-myun, Bucheon-gun by unfiying Wolkot-myun, Bupyeong-gun, and renamed as Geomam-dong after the liberization of Korea in 1945. Presently, land readjushment.
